Meggy just helped us sell our fourth house, so we're definitely not new to working with real estate agents. We had spoken to a few other agents before Meggy was recommended to us by a close friend. The other agents were all recommending (in my opinion) a pretty low asking price considering the state of the market. So once again I started asking myself: "What is this person actually doing to earn a large commission besides filling out paperwork?" Then we met Meggy. "I first met Meggi after I had interviewed 2 other realtor teams, and had pretty much made up my mind to hire the best team in my area. A friend suggested I should get in touch with Meggi, seeing as she had just sold their place quickly and over asking price. I knew enough about the market here in Ottawa to know that no one works miracles and unless the realtor had a large team working for her, it will be difficult to sell fast. However seeing as I had nothing to lose I contacted Meggi, who worked alone, and while I was pretty much notionally committed to another team.
